How will the proceeds benefit the University of Ottawa Heart Institute?
Every dollar counts. Each day, thoughtful Canadians like yourself give money in the hopes that the Heart Institute will help one in four Canadians affected by heart disease. When you give with heart, you save lives.
A hybrid operating room will be included in the Ottawa Heart Institute expansion which is underway. This new procedures room will enhance the efforts of the clinical team with a collaborative and patient centred environment, and exemplify that teamwork will continue as the bedrock of the UOHI into the future.
The hybrid operating room is an over-sized procedure room where interventional cardiologists, surgeons and imaging specialists can physically work together. It makes it possible to do less invasive procedures with real time advanced cardiac imaging in the same location to improve procedure outcomes.
