Surrounded by close family on September 13, 2025, Francine Darquise Doyle (née Boucher) passed away peacefully in Ottawa at the age of 76. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Michael.
Born and raised in Hull, Quebec, Francine went on to study chemistry before marrying Michael and moving to Ottawa. A devoted mother, she dedicated 18 years to raising her children before returning to the workforce, where she spent many years in public service. She found delight in the lives of her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them.
Francine is remembered for her warmth, generosity and the joy she brought to those around her. She was renowned for the feasts she lovingly prepared bringing family and friends together, for her laughter and for the way she always made others feel special. She cherished time spent playing cards and board games with friends and family, whether at home in Ottawa or at the family?s summer cottage on Wolfe Island.
Predeceased by her parents Armand and Lucille (Mathé) Boucher, her brothers Michel, Jean-Serge, François and Luc and her sisters Madeleine Leblanc and Jacinthe Boucher. Francine leaves behind her children Eric and Catherine (Shawn) Cormier, her beloved grandchildren Claire, Elissa and Luke, her sister Catherine Boucher (Roger Nash) and her godchildren Marc Leblanc and Caroline Nash. She will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and close friends.
Francine shared her deep gratitude for the exceptional team at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, including housekeepers (Bonnie), food servers, nurses, doctors, PSWs (Jennifer), orderlies, technicians and so many others. We thank them all for their loving and supportive care. We are also profoundly grateful to Father Joe for his friendship, comfort and support.
A funeral mass and reception will be held at St. Leonard Parish, Manotick, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow.
Her spirit, kindness and joy will always be remembered.
Thanks to all who will continue to hold fond memories of her in your hearts.
